Mr. Smith is a founding member of Randall C Smith PA which he jointly manages with Don L. Brown. Before founding Randall C Smith PA, Mr. Smith enjoyed a successful general practice here in Orange County. Mr. Smith obtained his B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the American University, Washington, D.C. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
Mr. Smith began his legal career with the United States Treasury, working as an attorney-advisor in the Office of Tax Legislative Counsel and later on assignment from the General Counsel to the Executive Secretariat. In that position, he worked on the staff of the Treasury Secretary in the areas of tax and economic policy matters, tax and banking regulation, and on issues arising from the activities of Treasury enforcement agencies.
After entering private practice, Mr. Smith became a partner in Ross, March & Foster of Washington, D.C. where his practice focused on real estate, commercial litigation, and administrative law. He practiced in all local and federal trial courts as well as the appellate courts - including the U.S. Supreme Court.
Since 1982, Mr. Smith has practiced and litigated real estate matters, including serving as litigation counsel for national title insurers.
